Redrock Portrait Design

Denver + Boulder Portrait Photographer

Your Questions Answered Here!

It's important to me that you have fun at your photoshoot! It should be something you look forward to and are excited for. I know that might take some convincing for some people, which is totally normal, but I try REALLY hard to make you as comfortable as possible during the experience! None of that awkward stare at the camera for 10 minutes smiling or holding those awkward poses while everyone stares at you. I believe in prompting over posing. I can promise you I am easy going, and aim to give you a great time while bringing out your true personalities to shine through my camera.

From the beginning, you'll get everything you need for the best possible photoshoot experience. From our very first point of communication, I will work with you through the entire process to create photo's you'll love! Redrock Portrait Design specializes in maternity, newborn, family and lifestyle photography. I will be there every step of the way, from helping you plan your outfits if you need advice, to the most gorgeous Colorado locations, the best time of day to capture that perfect lighting! You are investing in the whole package with Redrock Portrait Design, and will always know exactly what you can expect with easy communication and knowledge.

I love growing with my clients! Redrock Portrait Design has been in the Denver/Boulder, Colorado area for over 7 years. Many of my clients I met for the very first time at their engagement session. Now continuing to grow their families, I have had the opportunity to photograph them through all of life's best milestones! There is simply nothing better. Photography is for everyone! I can't tell you how many times I have found random old photo's in boxes, and thought to myself, "look how little I used to be, look how my mom & dad used to look, and how happy everyone was!"       I believe looking back on the memories of life is a gift to be cherished forever. Some day, you're going to want those memories to look back on!

Getting to know your photographer is important! Making sure our personalities & style's match will make the experience that much better.

You want to make sure you are hiring a professional, someone who is experienced and knowledgeable, someone who you enjoy talking with, have similar interests with or personalities, and someone who truly cares!

Where can I see your reviews?

Thanks for asking! I LOVE reviews! It is so important when making a decision, to know the kind of experience that my clients have. I know personally, I look at reviews for pretty much anything, so I totally encourage you to see what others have to say about Redrock Portrait Design.

You can find reviews on Google and Facebook! After your session with me is complete, I'd love to hear what you have to say

Are you a full time photographer? Do you have insurance?

Yes and Yes! My love for photography started when I was only a child. I have known my entire life that this is what I want to do. It has been a long and rewarding journey to get where I am today, but I couldn't be more proud and grateful! I have been a full time Denver and Boulder based photographer for over 7 years! Now, what does this mean for you? It means I dedicate all my time to photography, business, and my clients. My business is my world, and having the time and energy to give you the very best experience is my main goal. I don't ever like to think that anything ever could go wrong, but just in case, I do carry equipment & general liability insurance. So I am all good in that department! Thanks for checking!

I sent you an email, what's next?

I can't wait to connect! I typically respond to emails within 24-48 hours. If you don't hear back from me within that time frame, I probably didn't receive your email. Please either send me another email, info@redrockportraitdesign or reach out through social media. I like to get to know you a bit via email, so I ask that you provide me with as many details as possible about what you're looking for. Making sure we are on the same page and a good fit for each other for your photoshoot is important to me. After discussing a few details and securing the date for your photoshoot, I will email you the portrait contract and deposit invoice for booking which can both easily be completed online. Once these are complete, you'll receive the final copy back and will be all booked for your session! Discussing location options and outfit ideas will come in the weeks leading up to your session date, unless you need extra time for planning- just ask, I'm always here to help! I highly recommend starting your outdoor session at golden hour which is about an hour or two before sunset. Many of my prime outdoor locations will only work at this time frame for the best, beautiful lighting in which you see in my portfolio. If this time frame is absolutely not an option for you, I do have certain locations that will work for different times of the day. Please let me know ahead of time. Thanks!

What is your editing turn around time?

Your online gallery will be delivered to you via email within 3 to 4 weeks after your session date unless otherwise discussed. Please check your email and junk folder to make sure you didn't miss it. If you didn't receive your gallery within that time frame, please reach out. Once you receive your online gallery, you'll be able to download all your images right to your phone or computer.

What if I need to reschedule my session?

No problem, I understand things can happen. If you or a family member is ill, have an emergency, or the weather is too bad to photograph in, we can absolutely reschedule your session for another date that will work for everyone. We are all human and I like to think I'm a pretty flexible and understanding person.

Please print your photo's! Get them off of your phone for your loved ones to enjoy!

Ever hear the saying, "The most photographed generation will have nothing to show for it"? It's true! Everything these days is digital and guess what, no one prints ANYTHING anymore! Well, what happens in the future? Digital formats are changing, who knows if we will ever be able to access our digital photo's, not to mention what happens if you lose those photo's or the hard drive crashes. Is that the only copy you have of those photo's?! Don't get me wrong, I am a digital photography business, everything I have is digital, however, I also print my favorite personal pictures because I don't know if I will be able to access them some day. Along with printing, I also have everything backed up on multiple hard drives. I have been an unlucky one of having hard drives crash, it happens, and it sucks! To think about the fact that those photo's are gone forever, is a sickening feeling. I don't want this to happen to you! So, I ask you to PLEASE backup your digital photo's in multiple places, and get those precious, irreplaceable photo's printed! Having a professional finished product is priceless. My computer is calibrated to my printing lab, which means the colors will be perfect, and everything I print for you is high quality! The cheap labs do not have the capability of printing high quality products, and the coloring...eek! Oh, and, don't you want to display your beautiful photo's on your walls or a custom made album on your coffee table for others to see? Not just on social media?  You have made an investment on your photography, so why not display it? And just in case you still aren't convinced, read this awesome blog I found here!

Do you offer a referral program?

I LOVE taking care of my clients!  Refer me to your friends & family, and really good things happen! You could be eligible for $ off your next session, free print products, or even a free session! Just ask your friends & family to mention they were referred by you, when they book with me, so you can reap the benefits! I would be forever grateful!

What's the deal with watermarks, filters & photo credits?

Ok, here's the deal with cropping out watermarks and adding filters to your photo's on social media. Just don't do it. It is a big no-no. Not only is this illegal, it is frowned upon by your photographer. And you don't want that, do you? Anything that your photographer adds to an image- like a watermark- is considered a part of that image. Altering that by cropping the watermark is a violation of the copyright laws. Once that image gets passed around the social media world, it's nice to know who produced that photo, and give them the proper credit for it. Which brings me to crediting your photographer on social media. Please do this! It lets us know that you appreciate the hard work that we put into creating that photo for you, and that you are proud to display it! We love that, and we need credit too. It may also bring in new clients. However, putting a filter on your photo's alters our work, and is not a true representation of our style. These photo's are considered an “artistic creation” and adding anything that changes that interpretation of what the photographer produced as the final image is just not right. If you are slapping a pre-made filter on your photo's, and tagging me in it, all it does is confuse future clients. So please refrain from the filters!! Thank you in advance!

Have any other questions- just ask! I can't wait to hear from you!
