The K Family | Outdoor Fall Family Photos | Boulder Family Photographers | Family Photoshoot

There is nothing better than having new clients come to you by referral. Knowing that my clients love me and my work enough to send their best friends and family members to me, there is no better compliment! The Knowles family came to me by referral from some of my very best clients, who I photograph pretty often. Even when I don't know the family that I'm meeting for the very first time at their photoshoot, it already feels like we have something in common, and that maybe, just maybe, I know a small piece of them already because of our common friends :)

Meeting and photographing this little family was such a joy. Colorado fall, scratch that, all Colorado weather can be unpredictable. We do have very beautiful days here, but once in awhile when we get a snow/rain/hail/wind storm, it makes it hard to want to push through a photoshoot when you know the next day will probably be beautiful. If you're local and have flexibility, I am pretty open to rescheduling a photoshoot for crappy weather. So, that's just what happened with this family. We happened to get some really crappy weather the day we were originally scheduled to have their family session. Luckily, we all had the availability to hold off until the following week, and I'm so glad we did! We ended up with the perfect Colorado fall day! It was almost 60 degrees, which was great for little Merritt! Warmer weather = happy baby! She was just about to turn one, and this was going to be their first family photoshoot together!

Not only was Merritt turning one, the family dog was turning 14, and likely toward the end of her life. It was so special that she was able to be a part of these family photos! Having an almost 14 year old dog myself, who I've had since she was a puppy, I have a soft spot in my heart for elderly dogs. It was the sweetest getting Merritt to interact with her fur sister, and being able to capture that on camera, for this family to have and remember her by forever, is just priceless.

I couldn't ask for better families to meet and photograph!
