Sarah + JP | Winter Maternity Photoshoot | Evergreen, Colorado | Bring Your Dog To Your Photoshoot
There's something about a newly expecting mama in the beautiful Colorado snow that I LOVE to photograph! Sarah is absolutely GLOWING with her baby bump. Her kindness and beautiful soul are contagious, and I had the best time photographing her, her husband and pup on a winter Colorado day!
This winter maternity session was a dream, it filled my cup, and I loved every minute of it. Even if when I'm driving to the session I have too much on my mind, too much on my plate, or whatever may be going on in personal life, every time I meet new people and start photographing them, all the troubles disappear. Maybe just for a short period of time, but I always leave my sessions feeling happy and refreshed! Oh, and the icing on the cake- having a dog that I absolutely adore join in on the fun!
Penny is a 2 year old Vizsla who has a lot of energy, loved the snow, her sticks, and running as fast as she can! This girl had a blast hanging with mom and dad at their photoshoot, even if she didn't even know what was happening lol. Every once in awhile we could catch her to join in for a photo or two, but during the entire hour long time we were here, she was on a mission! Running through the trees, bringing over sticks larger than herself, catching snowballs in her mouth, what a hoot! I was seriously laughing the whole time and left this session feeling like I needed to find my own Penny for myself! haha.
P.S. Bringing your dog(s) to your photoshoot will always be an option! Just let me know ahead of time so I can recommend my best dog friendly locations! This secluded Evergreen spot is perfect for dogs, and every time I have been here have only ever seen 1 or 2 other people. So one of the best things about it- it's private! Which also works if you're feeling a little shy in front of the camera ;)
Speaking of finding the perfect location- Sarah REALLY wanted snow for her winter maternity session! Well in true Colorado fashion, it happened to be a 60 plus degree week leading up to her photoshoot, (of course) ugh. There was a tiny chance of snow the day before, so when we talked about where we were going to go, I mentioned this little spot I knew of that usually holds snow with the large evergreen trees! We took our chance and drove the hour to get there. Well let me tell you, driving up I did not see any snow. I was so sad about it, BUT I walked around for about 20 minutes before Sarah and JP arrived, and guess what- I found some snow hidden in the trees! Hallelujah the day was saved, the snow was in the photos, everything was perfect, and just look how BEAUTIFUL these photos came out!! I'm obsessed! This has to be one of my top favorite winter maternity sessions in Colorado!
Congratulations Sarah, JP, and Penny!
