Mason Turns One | Boulder Professional Photographers | First Birthday Pictures | Boulder Kids Photog

Oh sweet Mason boy! How is this big boy already one?! It seems like just yesterday I was photographing him in his moms tummy for their pregnancy photoshoot. I blinked and he turned one! My o my does time fly! I am lucky enough to have Mason booked with my milestone package and got to meet him when he was only days old for his newborn photos, then again at six months old. This package is seriously my favorite, I absolutely love watching these babies grow throughout the year and documenting their little wins and milestones. The newborn photos are of course adorable, so precious and so exciting, but when I get to photograph them at six months, they are smiling at me (most of the time), they are sitting up (or learning to sit up) and of course at one year they have turned into their own little human with their own little personality. In Mason's case, he is a wild little boy and he is on the move! I think he skipped walking and went straight to running. I could barley keep up with him! I loved photographing and seeing his little personality shine through. At his six month photoshoot he would barely crack a smile for me (tough critic), but this boy was all smiles and being so goofy for his one year photoshoot. Probably because we let him run around and do whatever he wanted. We were on Mason time lol :)

Half way through his photoshoot we needed to wrangle him to sit still for his cake smash. He was into it for about 1 minute before he got antsy and started spreading frosting all over the floors as if he was painting with it haha. It wasn't too long before he stood up and started running around again, green frosting fingers and all, but I was able to get him back to his cake to capture his adorable belly rolls and back rolls from behind haha!

I absolutely love the simplicity of this photoshoot. We decided to do this indoors due to some cold winter weather and I knew the perfect place for it, my favorite Boulder natural light studio. I love photographing here any time I need an indoor location; newborn photography, kids photography, etc. This worked perfectly for Masons one year photoshoot. We don't need a whole bunch of props and clutter, after all it is all about Mason! The bright white space and simple furniture is perfect for what we needed. We hung some simple decor which was left over from Mason's birthday party and mom & dad brought him a cake from Whole Foods! Mason had a change of clothes for the first part of his photoshoot which made him look like a baby gap model lol! We were able to snag a few photos with mom and dad too!

Happy Birthday sweet boy, I can't wait to continue to watch you grow and photograph you and your family over and over again in the future!
