The Cadwell Family | Boulder Family Photography | Colorado Summer Family Photo's | Redrock Portr
The final months of being a family of four! Photoshoots are a great way to document your days, for any reason at all! You see, this sweet family isn't pregnant, they are adopting! How exciting is that! These guys reached out to me in the spring about getting on my books for a family photoshoot, as a way to document their last photoshoot as a family of four! I absolutely loved hearing their story, and was truly honored to document this time for them. The Cadwell family is brand new to Colorado, moving here from California, they wanted something that would show off the new place they call home! I knew the perfect Boulder location, and we just happened to have the perfect summer evening with some gorgeous light for photos!
Its sometimes hard for little ones to look at my camera for too long. It usually lasts about 30 seconds haha. So, I started focusing on capturing everyone looking at the camera in the very beginning of my sessions, followed by some walking, and eventually lots of playful activity. These girls are so darn cute, and even though they didn't really want to look at my camera and smile, they did enjoy walking through tall grass, getting thrown in the air, and picking wild flowers! Which is always more fun anyway, am I right? I love capturing families in their natural environment! After knowing I captured all I needed of the two little ones, I stole mom and dad away to get some fun and romantic photos of the two of them. P.S. in family sessions, I love capturing all family members in different groupings with each other. Especially mom and dad! Usually because mom and dad photos don't typically happen any more after the kids arrive. AND they usually never ask me for it, and are typically shy about it when I ask them :) Well, I'm here to tell you those are just as important and I want to loosen you two up and document why you love each other so much! This mamma and daddy weren't afraid to get in front of my camera, just the two of them, dancing in the open field and holding each other tight. Even if it is just for 2 minutes while the kids are doing their own thing!
Overall, it was such a joy to document this moment in time in the Cawell family's lives. We had a blast and I look forward to our next photoshoot together!
