Sal & Reanna | Downtown Denver Wedding | Denver Union Station | Crawford Hotel Denver | Denver I
You might not know it by looking at my website, or how much I talk about loving nature and mountains, but I actually LOVE these type of weddings. I have secretly been dying to shoot at the Crawford Hotel at Union Station for quite some time now. I am so obsessed with all the natural light and beautiful gold fixtures everywhere. When I found out Reanna would be getting ready at a room in the Crawford, I may have squealed a little. The hotel itself is located inside Denver's Union Station on the 3rd floor. It's like top security and super fancy- I had to have a hotel concierge take me up the elevator with a special key card lol. Reanna's room had a doorbell! (What?!) Upon walking into their room, obviously I was ecstatic to meet everyone and congratulate Reanna on her special day, but also- this room- oh my goodness! The marble floors, separated rooms (they had a suite), vaulted ceilings and amazing natural light had me super excited to spend 3 hours photographing wedding details and the beautiful bride getting ready! Reanna spent a relaxing wedding morning with her mom, grandmother and two sisters. It was easy, it was quiet, it was fun, and it was emotional. Just the way it should be :) I enjoyed spending my time with this amazing group of women and really getting to know them. I love family, and I love how others make family time a priority and spending quality time together is so important. I believe it is such precious time that you can never get back. Reanna wore two of her grandparents wedding rings on her special day, along with two special bracelets that her mother and grandmother had given her.
It was a chilly, cloudy March day in Denver but that didn't matter. Not one person made a comment about the weather, all they were focused on was the importance of this day and how special it was for these two. You could just feel the love in the air. When it was time for Sal & Reanna's first look, we headed outside the back of Union Station. It was emotional, and it was perfect. We spent the next 20 minutes walking around taking photo's, getting looks and congratulations from bystanders and did some people watching. These two are so easy going, and so perfect for each other! A family member brought their fur baby Milo, so he could be a part of the photo's- which I absolutely love!
Sal and Reanna had booked Wash Park Studios for their small ceremony and celebration dinner for their closest friends and family. This is the perfect venue for the modern, easy-going couple and Sal & Reanna fit the bill. The space has beautiful natural light, a wood burning fireplace, and a small city feel to it. It is the perfect spot to host a small wedding, event, or celebration without that large venue feel with all the "rules" and schedules.
The ceremony was quick but heartfelt. The bride & groom talked about how they met at a Rockies game 6 years ago and never imagined they'd be standing there today, saying their vows for life to each other. They love each other as they are, and except each other fully. You could feel the love in the room. After the quick ceremony, the couple spent the next 3 hours mingling and celebrating with the best of friends and closest family. They enjoyed a Mexican food buffet and passed around churro's for dessert. Their personal touches were just perfect.
I am overjoyed I had the opportunity to meet these two and photograph such a special day for them. I hope I continue to have that opportunity for them in the future, as they grow their family!
Congratulations Sal & Reanna!
