Mandi & Shane | Colorado Family Farm Maternity Photo's | Northern Colorado Maternity Photogr
I have known Mandi & Shane for a few years now, we were actually neighbors when we were both renting a townhouse in Westminster, CO. We lived next to each other for almost 3 years and quickly became friends. They were those wonderful neighbors who would always have that extra egg, or cream cheese, or milk if we were out and needed it in an emergency lol. We each had a key to each others place and got to play with each others dogs when we had long days and couldn't get home to them. Of course there were the fun days too- we did a lot of patio sitting, BBQ-ing, pool time, brewery hopping, and so much more with each other. We had a blast with these two. One day we got the dreaded news that they were going to move away from us. However, they were moving to a farm in Johnstown CO, so that's pretty cool too. These two were basically made to live in the country, on a farm, and I can see lots of animals and kids running around in their future haha. It all ended up working out because we bought our home in Dacono shortly after, so now we aren't too far from each other after all. I love that we still see each other often and catch up!
I still remember the day Mandi texted me a photo of her sonogram with the words "sssshhhhh" next to it. OMG I screamed for joy! I am so extremely happy for these two, they are going to make the best of parents! Shane is a teacher in Keensburg CO, and Mandi works for Bright Horizons Child Care, I just know they were made for this new role of parenthood!
It wasn't long before they found out they will be expecting a girl come June! The bows, dresses, and cutest nursery decor started rolling in their home. Mandi has such a wonderful unique sense of fashion, she always looks amazing and she will be the perfect girl mom with her creative touch!
I was ecstatic when Mandi asked me if I would photograph their pregnancy! Of course I would! When we started brainstorming what her maternity session would look like, she told me all about her vision of having the photo's on her farm with her childhood horses. Um yes please! It's kind of funny, because the week before their maternity session, I had an engagement session on a different clients farm in southern Colorado, for their engagement photo's with their horses! Which was my first experience with photographing horses, so by now I felt like an expert haha :)
It was a warmer January day in Johnstown CO for this very special photo session. I think it snowed the week before, which meant MUD, and lots of it! I'm talking my boots were covered with sticky icky mud and every time I would lift my foot up it felt 3x as heavy. It was so worth it though! We had the most gorgeous lighting and the horses were ready for their close up!
It was so special photographing these two and documenting the memories of their first baby! I couldn't be happier for them, and I can't wait to meet this little peanut! She is SO lucky!
Congratulations Mandi & Shane!
